Return to Claims Bulleted List

When your insured has a loss - no matter how small - it can be a traumatic experience! As the Agent, you should be readily available to assist your insured in their time of need. We know you, as well as the people here at Fulmont Mutual Insurance Company, want to reduce the insured's exposure to this trauma and make it easier to cope with. We hope the following information will do just that.

Check List On How to Assist Your Insured at Time of a Loss:

Complete Loss Form - make sure to include:

  1. The name as shown on declaration page, complete address, and location of the loss if it is different   from the home address.

  2. Day and night time phone numbers, temporary phone number, and location if insured is required to be moved to temporary location after loss.

Temporary Repairs - Request insured to complete only temporary repairs to protect property from further damage. For example put a tarp over a damaged roof.

Damage to Personal Property - Provide insured with our inventory sheets. These inventory sheets can be downloaded from our web-site or call our office for fax copies.

Get Estimate - Advise insured to obtain detailed repair estimate from the Contractor they will be using to do final repairs. Tell them to send the estimate directly to Fulmont. Please note - we do not require two estimates.

Additional Information - if there is additional information you feel we should have, please use the remarks section or attach a self-stick removable note. If all the above is properly done it will allow us to better serve the insured and conclude the loss in a prompt and proper manner.

Other Tips:

Independent Adjuster - Call us and we will determine whether to assign an Independent adjuster.

Appointments - Please do not make appointments for us or an Independent Adjuster.

Loss Notice - Your claims person should complete these as they discuss the loss with insured.
Supplies - Your claims person should have handy a supply of  loss forms.

Thank you in advance for your help. By working together we can both better serve our policyholder.
